It is chambered for 2 1/2" shells. Normal 2 3/4 will chamber and fire, but the pressures are too high. You need to either have the chamber lengthened, or make or buy shorter shells. Shooting 2 3/4" shells in one of these guns makes it kick like a sunuvabich, and is asking for the chamber to let go. And since the chamber is right next to your left hand, and real close to your face, that would not be fun.

I've got 4 12 gauge and 3 16s. Some model 17s, some 20s, and a 15. One of my 12s has had the chambers lengthened. I load for the others. I love 'em. They're sweet, they swing good. And they get lots of attention when others see them. :)
