Double rifles come in all classes of cartridges. I no longer own one suitable for elephant, though the big bores can be loaded down quite easily, however, mine are all more than suitable for medium game. They are as follows:

A Merkel O/U in 8 X 60R Magnum
An E. Goldmann, S X S in 11.15 X 60R, (43 Mauser)
A Baestlein, S X S muzzleloading double rifle in 56 cal.
A Vierordt, S X S in 8 X 64R Brenneke.

In addition to double rifles, I like:

Drillings
German and British Combination guns
Kiplauf's
Pre-war Mauser sporters
Mannlicher/Schoenauer's
Shiloh Sharps
Freedom Arms revolvers
Colt and clone SAA's
S&W DA's
1911's
SXS shotguns of German, British and American make. Spain and Italy make some good ones as well
Colt clone percussion revolvers
Flintlocks and cap locks
Ballards
Winchester and Marlin lever rifles
Rook rifles
Haenel/Aydt Schuetzen rifles......and no doubt others.

I like a lot of things but most are wood and steel. I don't mind aluminum or Zamak depending on what it is. I like single actions. I wont own a DA only. I shoot DA revolvers as SA. I don't like plastic. I don't like rails. I don't care for most modern designs. I'd say pretty much anything made or designed before 1960 I like.

I like most things that go bang as long as they are wood and steel. Preferably figured wood and color cased where appropriate. Octagon barrels are a plus.
Rolling blocks, falling blocks, pump and lever actions, flintlock and percussion.

If it burns powder and launches a projectile, I like it.

I like wood and steel long guns. Especially SxS shotguns. I like single action revolvers. 22 rifles of any manufacturer. Pretty much anything that eats ammo and goes bang although my collection is quite small.

I like guns.
I've liked shooting rubber bands off my fingers, pea shooters, spit balls, paper clips launched from a rubber band, tiny bows where you had to lick the rubber arrowhead to get them to stick to the walls. I loved the plastic somewhat copy of the Browning .30 cal that fired plastic bullets when you operated the hand crank, I didn't though like the real thing on the interior bunkers because I'd never trained on it and one day simply learned how to load it on my own. Sadly, I never did get to fire either one in our compound.

I loved the bb guns dad took away from the kids on his beat along with the one he bought me. I liked the co2 pellet gun he brought home and the single shot bolt action 22 he started me out on and the single shot model 37 20 gauge too. I loved the small long bow my uncle left with us one summer, though I didn't like not having an arrow rest. I came to love recurves more than long bows way more than any of the compound bows I ever had. Although that one Matthews was extremely accurate and a great meat getter.

I love double action S&W revolvers along with shooting them fast and accurately in double action.

I enjoyed my time with the 1911 in both std configuration and when I added a comp.

I really loved the years spent with a number of Ruger MKIIs in many configurations.

I've always loved sxs shotguns but was amazed at how well Dad's Browning Superposed handled even with the skeet/skeet configuration. To add some range, I'd use live pigeon loads.

Love my lever action rifles and pump action shotguns.

Really miss that beautiful Sako 243 I left behind when I moved here.

I enjoyed my time hunting with both side hammer and in line muzzleloaders
as well as the time with the grandkids shooting numerous 22 rifles.

And now I've come to love snub nose revolvers and a tiny LCP Custom, oh, and yes, one plastic Sig. I now appreciate the lighter weight of it, making it easier to carry and shoot than my steel guns. Amazing how much heavier they've become over the years.

I like a firearm that goes bang, every time I might need it to. In many ways I'm a function over form kind of person. I appreciate the simplicity and function of a Glock. Are the ugly? To many, yes. I don't care. I'd stake my life on a Glock doing exactly what I need it to do, when I need it done. I like Savage 99's, CZ pistols, Ruger double action revolvers and American series rifles, Colt revolvers, FAL rifles and Savage bolt actions. I've owned/own most of these. I own others, due to price point and the fact that I'm not independently wealthy.
