I used to shoot it a lot and took a break. Have rejoined and am looking forward to easing back into it.

I wish you good luck, and a whole lot of fun! I would probably have to drive 150 - 250 miles to find an IDPA match!
Doesn't that stand for....I Dont Practice Anymore?

those who beat their guns into plowshares, will plow for those who didn't
I still shoot it. Well, when it's warmer i do. LOL
There are three matches within an hour of my house. One is about 20 minutes away. I could probably add three or four more matches within a 75 mile radius.

LOL...IDPA is fantastic practice, something I need more of as do we all.

Exactly.
Couldn't agree more with the value of the IDPA matches, as a practice tool. And a very good one too! Checking with http://www.idpa.com/clublist.asp?pick=TX the nearest match is 100 miles away!

That's a bit of a drive, but probably worth it a couple times a year. On a nice spring or fall day, it's be a short ride on the Harley. :ya::ya::ya: and I'd probably take a few friends with me.
The IDPA in my area went belly up, used to be tuesday nights at the Marksman on Canyon road near Puyallup, WA and a match on one saturday. $10 for 4 iterations, very good tool to build your skills. Used to show every week for about a year long period.

Did a little IPSC also and got something out of it but much prefer IDPA.
I shoot in 2 different area IDPA monthly matches one 35 min from home one an hour and 15 min from home. been doing it for 3 seasons now love it went to my first state sanctioned match this year took 3rd class/div
My daughter and I will be starting when the season opens in June. Hopefully it will be fun for both of us.
Looks like its been a few months since the last post. How's the IDPA matches going this year? We started back up with outdoor matches in Jan. I hit 2 outdoor matches, and 1 indoor match each month from Jan-Oct. We are very lucky to have such a large group of IDPA shooters in Ga, and plenty of chances to get in on the action each week.

Heads up to anyone in the Ga, Ala, Tnn, NC, SC area. We will be having our club IDPA (GADPA) championship the 4th week in June. It's a regular monthly match, but we run usually 11-12 stages, and have lunch, and awards at the end. This is not a sanctioned event, but a great way to see some of the stages that the Ga state championship crew can come up with. Last year we had some very strong stages. Lots of guys came down from SC said they were amazed at the props used.
