    That's what can happen when you no longer your own company.
    I swear they're all run by bean counters these days.
    Same lack of QC has beset Marlin and I've heard the last few guns H&R put out were horrible shadows of what they once were.

    These were new rounds you'd just bought or recently bought?

    I've got boxes of Winchester Duck & Pheasant loads from about '78-'79 and they work in jus fine in Dad's 1100.
    However, I feel your ammo is much newer.
    Still, if the magnet sticks, its not aluminum and that was always the cause stated for malfunctions in the reports I've read about.
    I don't want to fault your gun or your maintenance schedule, but something odd is going on here.
