I am trying to find the year and details of this gun any information u can give will be greatly appreciated. It is an ivar johnsons arms and cycle works. I believe it is a .32 caliber serial number 83786 and the date stamped Is hard to see but I believe it says Nov. 17 08

Take that left grip off to see if there is a different serial number, if there is that will narrow down the date of manufacture. I moved this over to a forum where you might get more answers.

Your revolver is actually chambered in .38S&W (NOT .38 Special, there's a difference!).
It's a 3rd Model Safety Automatic that was designed for use with smokeless ammunition.
Really need to know the letter prefix under the left grip to date it.

When you check under the grip, a "C" prefix would date it to 1915 and an "H" prefix would date it to 1929.
