I recently inherited an iver johnson pistol. Need help finding information about it. It is either a 38 or a 32 not sure which.

I would like to know what it is (38/32) and when it was made.

Serial number is H34427 Or it almost looks like an upside down R

Any help is appreciated

Good catch with the upside down R. I believe you have an Iver Johnson 2nd Model 10th Variation Safety Hammerless Automatic Revolver made in 1906. The only problem I am having is the 10th Variation was R 1-33000, but the butt stamping is correct.

It considered a black powder frame and is not safe for modern smokeless ammunition.

Thank you for you assistance. If you don't mind me asking, what resource are you using to determine this information?

Bill Goforth, who was a member of this forum before he passed away wrote two books on the history of Iver Johnson Firearms. He was the accepted expert of Iver Johnsons, and I use his book as a reference.
