We can tell with a glance at a photo of an H&R revolver if it is black powder or smokeless - the caliber stamp on the side of the barrel.
Is there a similar clear indicator for Iver Johnsons?
Thanks

The book states no change was ever made to Model 1900 solid frame revolvers, so apparently all were considered safe with smokeless powder loads.

On top-break models, black powder models have only two crosspins in lower frame, and smokeless powder models have four.

Thanks. I remember a while back reading a thread that discussed the number of pins and included demonstration photos, but haven't been able to find it again. Your info is just what I was looking for.
