Hi Jeff,
Sadly there's no real serial number history for the Iver Johnson shotguns.
The best that can be done is a rough range of years.
The general consensus on the date ranges is this:

Dating by serial number....No letters just numbers, 1909 to 1919. One letter and serial number, 1920 to 1929. Two letters and serial number, 1930 to 1939. Serial number all alpha characters, 1940 to 1950.

Thank you very much, makes sense, my grandpa was a subsistence farmer in Richland County Wisconsin probably couldn’t afford any fancy shotgun but still shoots great, a family heirloom.
