i just got an iver johnson hammerless and need help finding the year the gun was produced
the serial number is H86087 i think it is a 38 but not sure

Your gun was made in 1931 for the smokeless .38 S&W cartridge.

? - Your photo indicates repair needed, but if returned to correct operating condition it would be safe with current .38 S&W ammo.

(.38 S&W is not the same as .38 Special, and may not be stocked by all local sources)
