I have what seems to be a First model

Looks like the owl heads have been taken off? There is what appears to be a ship wheel on one side and a Chinese symbol? Or just some random symbol? On the other.
Serial number is on the trigger guard

You have an 3rd Model Iver Johnson Safety Hammerless Automatic manufactured beteeen 1913 and. 1941. Remove the grips and get the full serial number on the left side of the frame under the grips. There should be an alphabetical prefix. A lot of people assume these are all .32's , but they made .38's as well.

Someone removed the Owl Head that should be in the circle.
