I have a Iver Johnson handgun with the s/n under the left grip being 89481. This is also stamped on the trigger guard. On the bottom of the grip it has "PAT JUNE 16.96 AUG 25.96 PAT'S PENDING. I would like to know what caliber, year of manufacture and a estimate of what it may be worth. Thanks

I doubt you get many replies with no pictures and your vague description.

Welcome to TFF.

Those patent dates were used on black powder models ca 1905-06, but unless it's a special order gun, there should be a letter before the sn under the grip that will identify the year plus model and caliber.

Value depends on original condition and clear photos are required, but commonly in the $100-$150 range or less.
