One for the flintlock fans.
Here is my J.Henry Trade Rifle.
Original , antique flintlock rifle , with English proofs , a plain maple stock and .58 caliber....circa 1800- 1820's.
This took my last elk , part of the hide went into my jacket seen in my forum intro.
What is a Trade Rifle some may ask...?
A Trade Rifle was a rifle built for use in the Fur Trade.
It could be sold to a trapper , traded to a tribe member or used by the fur trader himself.
Henry , Leman , Dickert ,Derringer and Tryon were some of the many makers of Trade Rifles.
