I know that officially we are a Republic but this sounds almost like what we have in Washington.

Kleptocracy is a term applied to a government that takes advantage of governmental corruption to extend the personal wealth and political power of government officials and the ruling class at the expense of the wider population, sometimes without even the pretense of honest service. The term means "rule by thieves". A kleptocratic ruler typically treats their country's treasury as though it were their own personal bank account, spending the funds on luxury goods as they see fit.
The effects of a kleptocratic regime or government on a nation are typically adverse in regards to the faring of the state's economy, political affairs and civil rights. Kleptocracy in government often invalidates prospects of foreign investment and drastically weakens the domestic market and cross-border trade. As the kleptocracy normally embezzles money from its citizens by misusing funds derived from tax payments, a kleptocratically structured political system tends to degrade nearly everyone's quality of life.

Does that make Obama the Kleptocrat in Chief?

Is $twenty Billion the Backshese that BP now has to pay to operate in the US? Has the Ottoman Empire been revived in the US with our new Kleptocrat as Sultan? Perhaps Rham Emanuel is the Grand Vizier.

It's not the new politic it's the same old one, IMHO it's people arguing spots or stripes when a big feral cat is sizing one up for dinner. To believe one politician is better than another is more a question of marketing than any discernible difference.
Loyalty to party trumps country and as far as I'm concerned that's treason.
