Was going to load some 223 ammo using the Lee Auto Pro powder measure. The charge bar wouldn't open quite far enough to drop the load of 20.2 grain of RL7 that I wanted to use. So out come the ever useful Dremel tool and now after a little trimming the bar will drop 22 grain of RL7 consistently. Of course I backed the bar off to get a consistent drop of 20.2-20.4 grains of RL7. Another problem solved.
Has anyone tried raising the Lee system so 3 disks will fit? Sounds too easy and I'm sure it's been tried or won't work for some reason but I am on the computer and my Lee is in a very cold garage (can you say wimp).
I use the charge bar for my pistol reloading, but once it came to rifle, I started to measure off the press. I was talking to a buddy the other day that uses a similar setup as I and he said he uses the charge bar on the press for his 223. He said he sets it to do half the charge he wants. Pull the lever twice to get a double charge. So if he wants 25 grains, he'll set it for 12.5. Him and I both tare every casing before dropping the powder directly into the casing and weigh it after it's charged, so as tedious as it may sound, I guess it works for him.
Super glue two charge bars together and raise the measure up like a double disc setup. Would have to measure the setup to see if it will work without leaking powder.
