I just bought one of these 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting on ATI to ship it. I'll have an update when it comes in with more pictures.
Never heard of Safari Arms. Will have to look them up. That is one pretty gun!Colt Series '70 Gov't Model and Safari Arms Matchmaster

Thank you, Willie! Safari Arms is no longer in business/being made. They started in the late 70s making frames and parts for the 1911 platform and then started assembling complete guns - the Matchmaster (full size) and the Enforcer (Officer size). They were bought by Olympic Arms in 1997 and production stopped in 2013 when their pistolsmith, Richard Niemer (formerly of Detonics), passed away.Never heard of Safari Arms. My first 1911, in 1981, was assembled with a Phoenix, AZ frame mated with a Colt NM barrel/bushing and a Gov't slide on which I installed adjustable Millet sights. I no longer have it, though.I use to get a good deal from Safari when we bought their frames to build on. We bought at least 50 Argentine 1911 slides for almost the price of scrap, and started making them into 4" for about half what Colt wanted. Couldn't build them fast enough!
