Can anybody tell me anything about llama 1911's? My shooting buddies tell me the metal used in these pistols are of the "soft" kind, and that I should not buy these pistols. But I saw their Minimax II model and I was attracted to it. It has 10 + 1 capacity (.45 ACP) and has a 3 inch barrel, and looks like the Para P-10. Any comments???

don't know about the most recent 10 years' production, but handled (2) .45s or theirs some time ago, and fit and finish were garbage. And their 'lack of strength' was the subject of much discussion in gun stores / ranges I frequented.

I'll have to admit the Minimax II looks good, but looks can be deceiving. In the past, the Llama line has had some problems. I think I'd shoot or at least question someone who owns a Llama before I'd buy. JMHO.

    Hi Jun.....and welcome to TFF.

Llama pistols have always had a fairly poor reputation for quality. There are better choices out there.
