I read something about the "opt-out" thing, I do believe here on TFF, and I haven't gotten a phone call from the NRA in years. I do get the occasional NRA-ILA mailing, maybe twice a year.

I asked them to STOP years ago and very seldom get any.

My problem with the NRA is their mismanagement of the organization’s patron’s funds used to enriching their to administrators personal lives, but I found out two weeks ago that my NRA Life Membership which was back in 1977 bought for me as a gift from a good friend’s father, is not on record at the NRA. I contacted the NRA and gave them my membership number to which they replied that it was revoked in 2014. I asked why a Life Membership could be revoked and am still waiting for a response from them. I’ve been communicating through email because calling the NRA is a PIA, and my calls get put on hold which never gets answered. Has anyone else here had this happen to them with the NRA ? I did an Internet search and found other people who had the lifetime memberships revoked. I have in the past on Internet forums criticized the NRA for their past and recent indiscretions, but that is no reason for me to be revoked, unless the NRA somehow seen my Internet postings and are just thin skinned. I have not been charged or convicted of any criminal activity, so that can’t be it. But since I contacted them about this, my email box get two to three emails every day now asking me to join them. I was going not publicly say anything about this until I get an answer from them, but seeing that the subject of NRA membership came up, I decided to say screw it and let the cat out the bag on this.

While everyone else is running the NRA down, I have a quick question. Did you pick the endowment, the patron, or the benefactor level? I am an endowment member and proud of it!
Endowment level for me.

Since I did the life membership the mailings slowed considerably.

Yes, that's the one. It doesn't look like a proper knife to me so I couldn't figure out a use for it other than mount it on the wall. :D

PRR1957, do they still send you a magazine? I joined in the 70's and later became a life member. My number on my card is TMBxxxxR. I had to ask them to stop with the Chicken Little mailings. In 2008 I made a donation. Since then they have started slipping a donation request in my magazine once a year and I always donate. The point of all this is, they ask for my membership number off the magazine. And when I looked woa! it is a different number! So if you still get the magazine get the number off it and ask them if it is valid.

Congratulations! I've been a Benefactor for a few years, and I can tell you that the whining about needing more money for Wayne LaPierre's fancy lifestyle are never ending. Still, they remain the most significant defenders of our 2nd Amendment rights in the fray. If you live where it's cold, you can save the junk for kindling in the winter.
Has anyone looked into the finances of TFF? They didn't hire Oliver North did they? Sam might be laughing all the way to the bank.

Whoops, I hope that doesn't get me POOFED!! Just sayin.

Wow, I resemble that remark, completely. And our Covidiot governor here in Texas is destroying our great state as well. I too, need a church with cajones.
Yes, it's disappointing when organizations lose sight of their customer base. I was very disappointed that Chick-fil-A gave in to the liberal mob. Then most church pastors have given in to the State tyranny and have not defended their right to peaceful assembly, while pot dispensaries, liquor stores, casinos, and abortion clinics are "essential" businesses. Now I have to find a new church, one that grows cajones! Finally, I'm disappointed at the lack of protest against Governors that enjoy being a little king and are destroying their states, i.e. Californicate. So in the end you have to ask yourself are they worse or better than the alternative? Good luck with that.

Not the best pics but as promised, my "Benefactor" gift mounted on the wall of my office:

The knife is on the wall opposite of my desk and you can see the cabinet where I keep my web server. Tiny, tiny office but I'm a one-man show.
