    I have searched this site and others and can't find exactly what I have. Printed on the gun " THE MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NORTH HAVEN , CONN USA , EST 1870- MICRO-GROOVE BARREL , MOD 336 CAL30-30 WIN. " Has hooded front site , gold trigger , serail no. 2216xxxx Thanks for any help Brian

    You have a 336C probably.

    I recently bought a new 336W SN# 9202xxxx

    That makes me believe yours is a bit older. The price for used 99% 336's is $500-600 on the high end. I don't know why though because a brand new 336 is $360-450.

    Anyway you have a very tough, inexpensive, gentle shooting, lever-action deer rifle. Hope this helps.
