What might be a range of value for a Mauser model 2000 circa 1973 in .308 Win (7.62 NATO) be? It has been a great rifle and I don't intend parting with it (hunted with it this evening) and I can't imagine a rifle I bought in the PX at MCRD San Diego for $103 can be any rare piece. Just interested because I never see it referred to anywhere. Thanks a bunch for any light that can be shed. Sincerely, Mike

Hi Mike.....welcome to TFF.

Well, I actually found it in one of my books!

Mauser Model 2000

Caliber: 270 Win., 308 Win., .30-06
Action: Bolt action; repeating; adjustable trigger
Magazine: 5-shot box; hinged floor plate
Barrel: 24" Krupp steel
Sights: Folding leaf rear, hooded ramp front
Stock & Forearm: Checkered walnut Monte Carlo one-piece pistol grip stock & forearm; swivels; cheekpiece.
Approximaate wt.: 7 1/2 lbs.
Comments: Made from the late 1960's to early 1970's.

Estimated Value:

Excellent: $375
Very Good: $300

My book is 7 years old, so it's probably worth more today. Looks like you got a good deal.
