I have a Turkish 8mm Mauser that I recently acquired. The rear sight is an adjustable elevator type and numbered 1 through 20. What do these numbers mean in yrds? Or even meters?

Yeah, on the Mausers it means meters.

How's your shooting at 2,000 meters using iron sights? :D

Just for grins, 2,000 yards is 6,000 feet where 2,000 meters is 6,550 feet. I'm not sure if at over a mile it will make too much difference. Even at 300 meters the difference is only 84 feet. BTW, most Mausers are sited at 300 meters and will shoot high until you get to that distance. I guess they didn't think CQB ever took place.

Ok thank you. I kinda figured that was it but I wanted to make sure. That sounds like a nice shot to try:D I have a buddy who says if I can see it I can hit it and I all I use is iron, so if I can find a 2000 meter range I might try it fer fun.
