I just got a 68-69 vintage Model 760 in .30-06. It has two magazines, but one is marked .270. In an earlier post, more than one responder said that the mags are caliber specific. Yet, the new manufacture mags that will, supposedly, fit this rifle have several calibers stamped into the side of the mag. I assume that means that the mag will accomodate multiple cartridges. I am confused. Can anyone shed some light ???????

Shoot the 270 mag in your 30-06 no problem, I have been doing it for years. The 270 and 30-06 mags are interchangeable. Even between my newer 7600 and 760.

Thanks very much. Although they looked identical, I wasn't sure. Thanks again.
