I'm a new member; I checked in earlier and introduced myself.

I am both a shooter and admirer of the most iconic of JMB's designs... currently, I have only three examples.
My Springfield "Range Officer" shoots WAY better than me.
My STI "Nitro 10"... well, hey! How could I pass up a 10mm STI?! It's bad -love it!
My Kimber Stainless TLE/RL II represents the only Kimber I've ever owned. It's smooth as glass and I'll definitely keep it, along with the other two.

I've owned Colts; I've sold Colts. (Both Series 70 & 80.)
Nothing wrong with them. I just preferred the money I got for them rather than keeping them.

Cool. I've only ever owned one 1911. I just fitted a square edged EGW firing pin stop to see if the 10mm ejected cases stay in the county from which I'm shooting them.

You are close. I use a piece of white poster board, shooting outside when skies are overcast or in the shade (to minimize shadowing).
