    Mystery Bolt!

OK, all of you folks that are sharper than I am on the European military stuff (and that's about every one of you). I have a mystery bolt here I am trying to ID so I can peddle it.

Two locking lugs 180 degrees apart from each other. Slotted for long extractor. Removable bolt head. Mannlicher-type flat handle, bent almost 90 degrees, with coarse checkering on the underside of the handle. Cocks on opening. Wing-type safety on upper rear of bolt.

Not a straight-pull bolt. Bolt head not present, so I cant measure cartridge rim, but bolt diameter about right for most small-bores like 8mm.

If we cant get it from this, I'll post a pic later.

Sounds like a bolt from a German Gewehr 1888 carbine, though there are a few others, no doubt. While the 1888 long rifle had a standard straight handle bolt, the carbine was turned down and flat.

Jonkx beat me to it - sounds like an 1888 carbine spoon-handle bolt.
