This is a #97223 Gerber and I don't know the model name. Anyone know what it was called in the 1970's.

I been looking at this gerber and glanced at the sheath......loooks like u put the zip code for Portland,OR. for the model No.
Is there any 4 digit numbers on the blade itself?
They also will put the Portland,OR 97223(zipcode) on the blade itself.

Poor copy of the original Schrade finger groove LB-7 back
in the 70's.

Had the Schrade model stolen from me in the late 80's!

The Shrade was a magnificent piece of work, I got mine
from Mc'Cauly Culkin's(the actor)uncle who's an old friend
of mine. Been a few years, so I'm not sure anymore of the
correct spelling of their name without going into my rolodex,
but this thread has jar'd some pleasant memories of days
gone past of which maybe I'll post in the GD as it involves
Bobby D. Jimmy H. and a few others. Gotta be in the mood to dig into the cob webbed past for that one though.

The blade and the sheath both have only:

GERBER
PORTLAND, ORE.
97223 U.S.A.

At a recent show a dealer had a used one, w/o the sheath. He had another with the same marking but it had two brass pins through the wood handle. He said they were both discontinued in the 70s, but did not know which version was the earlist.
