I am a new forum member and I have someone wanting to trade me a S&W 32 Hand Ejector second model 5th change. The serial number is 173,009. He says that it is in near mint condition, he estimates 99.9%, with no blemishes at all on bluing or on grips. With this serial number, what year would it have been manufactured? If it is as he describes it, what would a reasonable estimated value be? Thanks for any assistance. Greatly appreciated!

Got a picture of the S&W 32 I'm asking about. Can anyone offer any assistance with estimated value?

Much appreciated! That's about the price range I was thinking after I received the picture. But, I wanted an expert's opinion. Thanks for the assistance.

It has been refinished. The hammer and trigger were originally case-hardened, not blued. It would make a good shooter, especially since just about any current J-frame grips can be put on it.
