Had an Email from my son-in-law this afternoon asking that I recommend a black powder rifle for himself and our 12yo grandson. Son-in-law's been a hunter for over thirty years, but has no experience with black powder rifles, and mine dates back to when I was firing an 1853 .577 Enfield and 1859 New Model Sharps .52 in BP matches. He's looking for a good beginner's big game BP rifle that'll still serve them well down through the years. Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions.

I'd add a T/C Renegade to the list, they can be found used at very good prices. I don't know much about in-lines, but have a friend that loves his T/C Encore with a black powder barrel on it.
