I have an old pistol of my grandpa's. Can't find any marketing on it at all Wood grip and the rest appears to be brass. Could it be an old kit?? Any ideas where to look?
Any help would be appreciated.
Pocket pistol from the mid 19th century, possibly Belgian but the way the grips mate to the frame isn't typical of Belgian guns. The captured ramrod is unusual. The belt clip is most likely an add on since these were made for pocket carry.
The engraving is not typical of the period associated with this type of firearm, the muzzle turning looks odd and the captured ramrod is also not typical for this type of firearm. The belt clip is just wrong. Any proof marks? Should have some..
