Having to stay home for the past two month I too up an old hobby, leather working, and decided to make a few holsters. Here is the one I made for my S&W 617, it fits any K-frame revolver.

Because of the C-More Red Dot sight I had to open up the top of the revolver but it is very secure. There is a tension screw just under the trigger guard and the front 2.5 inches are covered with leather. The gun will not fall out even when the holster is turned straight up.

    Any criticism is welcome

Very nice. You got quite creative making accommodation for that sight. What is that pattern, it's not really basketweave is it?

I made the pattern myself. It's basically a copy of Ernie Hill Speed Leather with a few modifications.

It actually is basket weave. I tried a new set of punches. Perhaps it should be sharper but when you bend leather you loose a little definition.

    Thanks for the comments.
