I recently sold a leupold fx-i (4x28) and am now buying a new leupold fx-ii 6x36 but i have the option to get the fx-ii 6x 42.But what i want to know is would the fx-iii be to much for the shooting im doin .22 rabbits and other small game and some range shooting or would it be a good investment .Price is no factor as the money i made on the fx-i in ireland i can get a fx-iii in the states.

    Thanks guys.

I am a firm believer in the lowest (closest to bore axis) scope mount. Mine run about 45mm for maximum front bell; low/med rings.
Newer scopes are moving to 35mm main tubes, these are going to set the standards in the next few years.

I would always choose the larger given a choice.

At least you are using quality glass.....that means something too!
