Just dealt me up my first Ruger pistol of the year. It’s a SR1911 Target in 10mm. I have a Kimber that is similar. My Bro been crying he wants a 10mm. Will shoot the Ruger and decide which one is best and let Bro have the other. Up one Ruger and down one Colt. Seems to be well built but I wish it was blue, the Kimber is SS too.

I was going to get a 10mm but can't find any ammo. There was a run on it. Academy has been out for over a month now. Anyone else seen the same with 10mm ammo?

Going to be hard for me to leave Ruger SBH 44mg aside to carry auto for deer. I only shoot iron sights and in the area I hunt all under 100yds. Most are shot on the jump just like rabbits.

I agree, it would be hard to switch to a semi auto for deer, I hunt with my Ruger Redhawk .44 mag., it has not let me down yet.

When I hunted elk with the late season cow tags, I'd usually use my Ruger SuperRedHawk in .454 Casull using warm .45 Colt reloads or my S&W stainless Mountain Gun in .41 magnum . I don't think that I'd transition to a 1911 for hunting.

10mm is undergoing a moderate resurgence, so maybe that's why Academy is out of stock. IIRC, Academy only ever carried the 10mm SIG ball ammo...very good ammo, but very limited selection. There're plenty of options online. A quick search shows over 20 10mm selections, and they ship "free" with $200 purchase: sgammo
There are many, many other ammo suppliers out there, and Academy sells online, too.

Got 10mm whipped. Bro & Nephew up last night to look at Ruger. One thing led to another and they are coming back this evening with trade goods in the way of Smith &Wesson N frames- P&Rs. So long story short I may be clear out of 10mm business. They want them both.

Trading session came to stalemate. Round 2 tomarrow night. Still have Ruger but traded a 1100 Rem for a S&W m19 that use to be mine. Think it’s 3rd time this dog came home. Gonna wear it out trading it. Didn’t really need it but Bro needed 1100 to close a deal.
