Anyone seen it yet? My wife and I went to see it yesteday and we both enjoyed it a lot. This picture has revived the franchise. If you like scifi this is a very good one to see folks. I won't talk about specifics as not to ruin the film for anyone that may be planning to see it.

What's CHUCKS? Do you mean chunks perhaps? Or a derivative of Charles ? Com'on Glocknut, I mean really now.

You do not have to be familiar with the original versions to watch the new one.

I might see it since it is a "reboot." The Trek Franchise has sucked badly the past few years. I'm also a huge Trek fan, mainly TOS and DS9.

I saw it today. My feelings about it can be summed up with the word..."meh." The plot was kind of crappy and had a couple major plot holes big enough to orbit a planet through. Yet another installment of "Time Trek" (I'm not really a big fan of the time travel plots in Star Trek. They're either total crap or they're done very well. Very little inbetween). Visually it wasn't half bad. I like many of the ways they updated the TOS look. The uniforms were great. The hand phasers and other equipment was great. The sets were good, for the most part. (I really liked the new bridge, but Engineering was horrid.) Externally, the Enterprise...well, except for the horrible secondary hull, it was ok.

My wife and I saw it, I really liked it. I was a fan of the original series and the Next Generation, I think it was a good re-envisioning, and will breathe life into the franchise. However I must say the actor who played Bones was awesome!

Karl Urban. Yeah, he did an outstanding job playing McCoy.
