Looking to replace this repaired factory stock, not sure I trust it will hold.
Recent acquisition with about 100 rounds of ammunition. I don’t know enough about it other than the guy I got it from let his left handed buddy shoot it and it split the web between his index finger and thumb!
Any recommendations on replacement stock is appreciated.
thanks

In that caliber I'd want a new stock too... I have no suggestions other than perhaps a laminated stock.

If you're referring to the dark plugs, that's not a repair. There's a cross bolt that they put in the magnum calibers.

Bill, in that middle picture, it looks like a crack of some kind, at least to me.

The middle pic has the repair, left side. Also opposite side where the bolt handle notch is, crack there also.
I completely missed that. Being 458 Win Mag, I think that I would be looking to replace it too.
I just need to figure out if a factory replacement is going to be strong enough. Since a laminated stock is around the same as used factory made ones I’ve seen on different sites

Here are some polymer stocks that would work.

Here are Boyd Laminate stocks.

The laminate stock would be considerably stronger than the factory Remington stock, and heavier to. And in that caliber, that's a big plus.
