Nosler Brass problems

I just received three boxes of Nosler brass in 7MM-08. What a disappointment. Should have done some research on the web first. Nosler is not in my opinion quality custom brass. Every case had to have the primer pocket uniformed. Case weight is not very uniform, better than some but not custom quality. I had to run all of them through a full length sizer then trim all of them. Folks this is NOT CUSTOM QUALITY BRASS. Guess I will wait until some Lapua in 308 comes in stock and just re-size them to 7MM-08. Meanwhile I will stick with Winchester.

I sure like the nosler partitions and shooters pro prices, but never tried the brass. I like the Lapua also, even at $70/100, got 5 boxes a couple months back and have another 5 boxes back ordered.

I also like the Silver State Amory brass too, but have only used the 6.8 and it made hornady brass look like garbage. I'm going to try SSA 308 brass whenever it comes back in stock.

Hard to beat the Lapua, yet so many friends swear it's all the same; me don't think so.

I totally agree!

I hope you get the Lapua at $70.00 per box if it is a box of 50. I recently paid $93.00 for Lapua box of 100 in 22-250. If there is any more of the Lapua for less than $100.00 feel free to contact me as I am looking for some more 22-250 and 308. Thanks in advance. catfish

sounds like some hornady brass I got.

every flash hole had to be reamed adn true'd up.

I bent a deprime pin on my rcbs die set due to the primer pockets not being correct...

for that reason I avoid hornady brass now..
Catfish, I got the first 100 count blue boxes of brass in early January. Ordered 5 more from Sinclair and put it on backorder mid January; figure it will come in sooner or later; might even backorder a few more boxes too. SSA had 308 & 7.62 mil spec just a few weeks back; I should have got some and will nx time they have some more as I think their 6.8 brass is the nicest I've ever used. I'd call Sinclair and backorder whatever I was looking for; I've never had those guys raise prices on me yet; but we might just be in a new world nowadays.

Get this, I have a downriver halfbreed buddy that lives in Fairbanks. He has a couple ARs, but never started reloading or buying cases of .556 when it was plentiful. So everybody is out in town. I told him the nx Indian from our village that flys in, I'd give them 10-15 boxes Q3131 for him; he was as happy as first salmon or fat caribou. Then he said that Sportsmans was having a lottery drawing for the 10 new ARs that are coming in this week; a lottery for a chance at buying a new AR; more buyers than stock; unreal.

Ya, I'd call Sinclair and see if they'll back order some brass, you'll be first in line when it does come in , and it will.

had the same problem in my 30-06 and 6mm,, hornady brass primer pockets holes off center and cases different sizes,,even their bullets almost double my groups at 200yrds,, good old remmington is my preference with seirra or speer bullets,, give me (or at least my guns) the best groups,,have tried some or the other premium priced stuff but have never seen any improvement in my guns,,, so dont pay premium anymore,, but your gun may be diff..
have had god luck with speer and sierra and nosler projectiles.. even hornady.. but that darn flash hole in the wrong place is agravating..
