Guys, I've been looking for a pair of "excellent quality" nun chucks...I've practiced/played with this weapon for 20 years, and find that it is a great way to workout. While looking on-line all I can find is 10 to 20 dollar crap that wouldn't hold up to perpatual use. Any leads would be more that appreciated.

Depending on what you are experienced on, making your own has always proved better to me. You can select the wood, it`s shape. This controls weight and strength. Then the choice of connections. I find the Police batton pretty much took the life out of those some time back.....as that design was an improved version of the chuckas. Best LTS

I just looked online and couldnt find much either. Where do you live by the way? I know of a place near me in southern Cali that sells some more expensive, seemingly better ones, although i have no idea if they are "excellent quality" as i have never used any nun chucks before.

Donny, I think the original moved into the big health club...at least it was for a while. The original was on College street and not just for kids, though that was what they were after. LTS

Want to hear a strange one. In Arizona nunchaku are illegal to own; you can walk down main street with a 45 but no chucks.

I made a pair out of pool cues. They make a hell-of-a dent

Alright LTS I guess I'll have to honor the "I dont want to tell ya rule" LOL...The box is actually Country Boy Paintball's (Billy Crowson's) mobil unit...It is an old U haul truck that was made to haul paintball guns, large compressed air/nitrogen tanks, ect, to paintball games...I'm sure I paid for it at least ten times
Speaking of paintball, visit my site sometime.

LOL...You get ready to put a few down range lemme know...I've asked Mr Emerson of our PD for a key to the shed out at their range to make things a little nicer, he should be getting back with me on that pretty soon. Not bad the way thing are, but you have to bring cardboard and such.

Donny-
If you haven't had success in finding them via the suggestions, try either Black Belt Magazine or one of the
other martial arts rags. They usually have a bunch of retailers
listing their wears in the back.

Ace...I've had no luck at all...Cheap chucks are in abundance, I'll check those mags next time I'm in Brookshires, if I still have no luck I may settle on several "El cheapos" Thankx Bro.

All I can say is "WOW"

I'd wish I could hook up with ya sometime...I've never recieved proper nunchuka (And very little hand to hand combat) training, and would enjoy learning from you, alas, I'm sure were a million miles apart.

Way to go though!

id suggest to make them, my dad made a pair out of 2 Plexiglass dowels.. they were about an 1 1/4 inches in diameter and would give ya a big ass bruise if you hit yourself with them which i have done many times...

if not try www.tigerstrike.com they have a couple nice pairs for cheap..

When I was younger, and taking my two boys to Karate, for three years, they always had good quality items for sale to the students.

You could try some local Dojo's or karate supply houses. The stuff they sell is usually very good quality since it is being used in the Dojo for practice or competition.
