Got a Marlin glenfield mod 25. Looking forward to bring back to life.
Photos before would be nice...
I have a Marlin 25MN that never died . Not sure how similar they are but it seems to be a decent rifle, only fired it once. It had a what looked like a $5 scope mounted but luckily I found a Marlin scope, 3 Power I believe that not only is better but I think it’s cool having the rifle/scope match.
Keep us posted on your progress.
Yeah, I know how it feels, I am old and beat up too.
Old and beat up. I thought you were talking about me.
I did that with a Marlin I gave my BIL one Christmas. He liked it, and I managed to corrupt him from his liberal antigun ways. He now owns several guns.
So, Marlins are a "Gateway Gun"...... Haha!
I'm a rather high-mileage unit myself.
Seems to be a few of the "Old and beat up" guys around this board.. "Time and chance happeneth to all men" as the Good Book says...
What needs to be done to it?.
Looks like the bolt is missing. I've got one I bought new back in the 80's with a 3-9 Bushnell on it that's older than the gun. Stay away from mags that have a plastic follower if you can. Stock up on them if that's all you can get.
I have the bolt. It is soaking in oil. It sat barrel up in a garage for 28 years. Barrel is plugged up aswell. I'll get it up and shooting.
Should I be posting a self portrait? You must be referring to me when you made such a definitive statement
I got the bolt working really nice. And
the scope is a 3-6 power weaver made in El Paso TX.
