I just bought a 45 cal percussion black powered pistol, and have not a clue of what i bought, its just plain cool looking, in need info on what i have if someone can help. this pirate pistol has G R Douglas on the barrel with what looks like snake in front of the front site ??? the barrel is 10.5 long

GR Douglas is a well known barrel maker located at Cross Lanes WV. They are still in business but no longer make muzzleloading barrels. I worked there back in the 60's and George Suiter of Wmsbg. fame, also worked there. Their barrels are of very high quality and I would select a Douglas barrel over any other barrel maker, if given a choice.
