Saw that on Fox News. Looks like it got voted down, but the fact it even made it to a vote shows how far left Calif. has gone. Scary! If Bernie ever gets in in sure he will want to have a Socialist day Holiday!

I’m telling you it’s too late and we are far past the point of being saved. It reminds me very much of someone trying to save a drug addict or alcoholic. The addict’s family has to acknowledge that there isn’t anything they can do to save—place name here—and their best course of action is to allow the addict/alcoholic to feel the consequences of their choices. The only hope is that the addict/alcoholic will feel enough pain or hurt bad enough that they will reach a point of desperation such that they will become willing to listen to reason. Here in California the whackjob liberals far out number we conservatives and in a democracy there isn’t much that can be done. The best thing you can do is write us off and allow the state to implode. Maybe then it can be rebuilt and rejoin the United States of America.

According to local radio, it got voted down, but not out. More like "tabled."

Sometimes it's the only thing you can do. Tough love! Let them find their bottom, and let them fix their own problems. The thing is that there are none so blind as those that just won't see!

The way I see it the problem is that the good people are afraid to stand up.

Cali has gone so far left that if anyone speaks out against them they get hated on and exiled.
The left has made everyone afraid to speak up.

Suggesting you read a true biography of Lincoln.

This was already done, the start was creating "Presidents Day" in place of the individual birthdays for Lincoln and Washington's birthday. Not just California either. Veterans Day also seems to be waining and I suspect the only thing that keeps Memorial Day going is it is more the start of summer rather than remembering those who died defending the country.

The only good thing about May Day is the odds are reasonable it will be midweek and you can make a 4 day long weekend.

    3,000,000 conservatives
    30,000,000 liberals

I’m open to your suggestions. I vote at every election and engage every liberal I can find who isn’t a nut job and is actually willing to have an honest conversation.

Don't forget the 800,000 illegals who are allowed to vote.

Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight.

Our problem is the coastal belt, from the bay area down to San Diego. Forget the Bay area, conservatives will never stand a chance. My speculation is from Paso Robles south to Santa Barbara is going to lean conservative, but from Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties are like the Bay Area, Progressive as they come.

Like Orange County, San Diego County used to be more conservative, but for the last decade, they have gone liberal. the same for Orange County. We used to be conservative, but we're being overrun by liberals. I would guess the rest of the state leans to the right, but the rest of the state is so outnumbered by the coastal elite that their votes are all but lost, and will never amount to more than a fart in the wind, while their stench lingers like an outhouse on a hot, humid day. I don't see any significant change for the next several decades, other than a continual downhill spiral into obscurity.

But since the Libs hate guns and want to get rid of them, it comes down to around 3,000.000 gun owners compared to 30,000,000 protesters holding up stupid cardboard protest signs. It'd be like shooting Zombies!;)
