I was in the Coast Guard in 1974 when we still considered Communists our enemies and took our jobs keeping the peace and ATON in Alaska seriously . I had one hooked to my Case knife that had the beefiest marlinespike I had ever seen on it. I kept that rig for about 30 years until I was getting on a plane to fly to North Carolina one day and they made me decide if I was going to toss it or miss my flight. Still regret it. Should have missed the flight because I still miss that knife and p-38. The ones I have today in my go bag are just not the same.
