Hey guys. My Nosler manual gives the overall cartrige length on the 22-250 as 2.35. If I insert a 55gr bthp into an empty case and chamber it into my Remington 700 it comes out at 2.412. If I drop back to 2.40 do you think that I will be OK?

There is a possibility that if the cartridge is longer than 2.35 inches long it will not work through the magazine. Load five dummies at 2.40 and see if they will feed. I say five because that will fill the magazine up. If they'll work through the magazine, there should not be a problem with THAT gun. Trying oversize shells in a different 22/250 may cause problems.

    Thanks Alpo.
That was my point in this exercise--- to custom fit the shell to the rifle.
