Somewhere around 1990/91 I bought a high capacity kit (lower unit) from Para Ordnance for a what I was told at that time was for a Colt Combat Commander slide. At that time they were located in Canada and I do not believe that they manufactured a complete weapon. Anyway after it was put together it was put in a safe unfired for a number or years. I recently checked it out and the lugs seem to binding. I took it to a local gunsmith and he informed me that the Para was never meant to go with the Colt slide and he didn't believe that it was advertised that it would. Does anyone have any knowledge or information about these kits?.

He is somewhat correct but the problem wasent the slide. It was the colt parts ie grip safety, mainspring housing, ejector etc. Para does not make there frames to GI spec like the colt.
