I'm switching laptops and I'm having a hard time transferring my Pictures, I have tried a photo stick that got 1/4 of them in random order, a couple different jumper cables to no avail, CD-R that did nothing for me. Guess I'm going to PC doc and do the hard drive maneuver. This doesn't look big enough.

    ysacres,

Did your PC have Windows 7 that was updated to Windows 10 ?

I had hundreds of images that were on my laptop. The Ethernet connection on the circuit board broke off so a friend who does PC repair and other computer related stuff repaired it for me. With out asking, he thought he would do me an extra favor and update my laptop to Window 10. Long story short, most of my images disappeared, and those images that were still left could not be offloaded. This guy is supposed to be computer savvy, but he could not recover the lost ones nor offload what was there. He tried with several data recovery software programs which didn’t work, so he bought two more software data recovery programs, and they didn’t work either. Since then my laptop was destroyed in a flood back in 2014.

    Nice picture!
The cloud on the left side of the picture looks like a dog.

Before I made the switch, I got one of those USB portable hard drives, copied all the documents, data, pictures, music, and the .pst files for my outlook email onto it. Then on the new laptop I just copied from the hard drive onto the new computer. I have one of those hard drives set up on my computer as a constant back-up.

I sure wish I was as conversationally versed on computers as you all are..Throw
terms, devices, and do-dads out there like a Kentucky auctioneer! I kin get
on and off the keyboard, but toss a new feature or what-to-do term at me and
I'm overwhelmed....My son-in-law did all the tune up and correctional things
for me...He is away on business currently so if I happen to disappear one of
these days, don't weep for me you Champions of the Keyboard...Chief

Actually, that picture reminds me of the joke where the guy dies and wakes up in a beautiful valley with a buddy who had passed on years before.
He hears this beautiful music and follows it, until he finds a guy on a hill, dressed in white wearing a big stetson and playing mandolin.
He asks his buddy what that's all about and his buddy tells him that's God....he thinks he's Bill Monroe.

.....maybe you had to be there....;)
