Here is a pic of my Rem 700 SPS Tactical chambered in 308 Win. I threw in my Colt Commander and Sig-Tac knife for good measure.

This is my first pic for the forum and sorry about the clutter. Hope you find it suitable Glocknut.

PS: Forgot to mention that the scope is a Leupold Rifleman 2x7x33

Congratulations on the purchase. I'd like to have the same rifle myself. :)

Nice looking rifle! :) Does that bull barrel make it heavy towards the front?

    Nice combination... a .308 and a commander! :D

Mike I find the rifle to balance out very nicely. What I need to have now is a nice and dry day so I can take it to the range and get it sighted in. It seems like it has rained forever around here. :(

Did you let the gunshop borsight it in first? They can get it alot closer to start with which makes it easier to fine tune it at the range. I put a scope on a rifle one time and it was so far off to start with that i burned thru alot of ammo just getting it on the paper! At 100 yards it was off by about 4 foot. Something wasn't right... i had to use every bit of the adjustment the scope was able to do to get it on target. I think it was the rifles rail...it was not in line with the barrel for squat?

I have a laser bore sighter but a bolt action is easy to bore sight with out it. You pull the bolt out and look down the barrel at the target. Line the bullseye with the center of the bore. Then move the cross hairs of the scope to the bullseye. (make sure the gun is on a bench and secured in the same location for both adjustments) This will get you on the paper.

Really nice looking rifle. With that rifle and the commander I would feel very well armed.

I always bore sighted on a distant object by eye. I fix the rifle so through the barrel I can see the bulb on a nearby street light, maybe 150yds, then adjust the scope to the same bulb. Mostly gets me within a few inches on the range.

Is everyones workbench cleaner than mine?

Yeah, that'll get you in the ballpark but those bore sighters, the HQ ones get you alot closer...
