My husband has a 16 guage shotgun that is marked Bridge Gun Co. He knows its old, but we dont know how old. There are no letters in the serial #, just 6 #s. Any help you guys? I did my homework on Bridge Gun Co, but have only found that Crescent Fire Arms or H&R Arms Co may have made the gun.

During the first half of the 20th Century ( and to some extent much later, Sears, Wards , Western Auto ) there were over 400 trade names in use. Some of these were registered to the Gun Company, others to the Hardware store that sold the firearm. Bridge Gun Co. was a registered name used by Shapeigh Hardware co., St. Louis, Mo. Shapeigh would buy their firearms from the lowest bidder and the name Bridge Gun Co. would be roll marked on the firearm regardless of who made it. Most of the Bridge Gun Co. ( there was no actual Bridge Gun Co, other than in name only ) were made by Crescent Firearms Co, however both Stevens and H&R supplied shotguns to Shapeigh. So you can see the problem in answering your question. You might try going to a site such as Numrich GPC, pull up their on site catalog and comparing what you have to what they show. Just a guess I believe your shotgun was made in the 1920' or 1930's Value on these old shoguns is low, normally less than 100 unless like new. Hope that helps
