I know you wont cause any damage by dry firing a centerfire rifle or shotgun but my question is when I dry fire my h&r pardner 12 gauge single shot break open action shotgun it makes two clicks. On my stevens(savage) 12 gauge single shot it only clicks one time. Is this normal for the h&r to do that? Id appreciate if someone could dry fire one of theirs if you folks have a h&r. Thanks for any info. I forgot to mention the h&r will only click once if I hold my finger on the trigger but if I let it go it clicks twice. Both clicks sound the same.

Thats the sound of the transfer bar dropping out from between the hammer and firing pin and the barrel latch unlocking. Perfectly normal.
