yes im kinda leaning away from that for the same reason its bulky and covers up the whole gun.
This seems to be the best option. They do make mounts that will fit in the dovetail slots of your rear sights but those always seemed bulky and cumbersome to me. Adding any type of mount will add a weight to the rear of the slide might increase muzzle flip from recoil. You also lose the ability to co-witness with your iron sights as well. At least having the slide cut to fit a red dot will reduce some of that weight and should save your rear iron site.If you want to run a red dot, have the slide cut for one.
