I went to take apart a turkish mauser last night, so I could scrub the cosmoline out of it, and those turkeys staked in both trigger guard screws. I turned the screwdriver as hard as I could, but they would not budge. The trigger guard matches the reciver, so i really don't want ti drill out the stakes, do I have another option?

A knife-edge needle file can be used to carefully remove the staked metal around the screw head, at least enough to break it loose with the screwdriver. Carefully match the screwdriver tip to the screw slot.
