Hello,

I am looking for some assistance with what I believe to be a replica Colt 1860. I acquired this gun from my father who purchased it in 1963. Not sure of who the manufacture is, or if this piece is of any value.

The cylinder has a manufacture date of 1843, yet no patent number.

I believe that one was made by ASM (Armi san Marco). It appears to have a date code of XXIII which would be 1967.
1843 is the year of the naval engagement between the Texas Navy and the Mexican Navy which is what the cylinder scene represents.

Italian Proof Mark Date? Starting in 1954 were marked with roman numerals starting with X in 1954 and going thru XXVI in 1970. XX7 thru XX9 and XXX represent 1971 thru 1974.
