Restoration- Remington 03A3

Hey guys,

In the very near future I will be the proud owner of a Remington 03A3. The rifle is supposed to be made in 1942 according to info from M1903.com (#4094XXX). It has a type "C" stock and the finish appears to be decent but I'm not sure of any proof marks. I'll have to wait until I have it in hand.

For rifles of this era how much restoration(if any) is acceptable before it loses value?

Also, the "C" stock was prpbably done at an arsenal rebuild. With this in mind ,how bad would it affect value.
