    NEWS RELEASE

CCRKBA CONDEMNS ‘THEM V. US’ HOMELAND SECURITY ‘ASSESSMENT’
    BELLEVUE, WA –

A volatile “assessment” of so-called “Rightwing Extremism” by the Obama administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is an insult to political conservatives, military veterans and American gun owners, and demands an immediate apology, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

“We recognize that many conservative gun owners will feel threatened by this Obama administration report,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “It appears that DHS under Janet Napolitano is trying to demonize political dissent.”

The chilling nine-page document likens citizens opposed to new firearms restrictions, returning veterans and conservatives to “rightwing extremists” and associates them with white supremacists and violent anti-government groups.

“Every action has an equal and opposite reaction,” he continued. “We feel the appropriate reaction is through the ballot box and jury box. Conservative American citizens shouldn’t be pushed into any acts that could be exploited by the administration to further its agenda. If there are any acts of violence that occur because of the Obama Administration policy of chilling dissent, they bear the blame as much as the perpetrators.

“Anyone in the administration trying to use this technique should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” Gottlieb stated. “This administration needs to be reminded that its words and actions have consequences, and irresponsible statements, reports and actions fuel fires that are counterproductive to democracy in America.

“The authors of this assessment are pushing an ‘Us-against-Them’ philosophy,” he said. “They, along with Secretary Napolitano, owe every conservative American, every veteran and every gun owner who supports limited government an apology.

“It’s ironic,” Gottlieb concluded, “that President Obama’s friend, William Ayers, is a leftwing terrorist bomber, but nothing in this report suggests monitoring his activities.”

I agree that it's a very broad and inaccurate brush to paint all Conservatives with... In response, I put a newer Gadsden type flag sticker on the truck along with my GOA sticker. This is exactly what I meant a few weeks ago when I said it wasn't time to cower and pretend you're not a firearms owner and 2nd Amendment supporter. Cowering only makes it easier to characterize those that are vocal about their concerns, and we all lose. I say it's time to become MUCH more vocal in how you write newspapers and your elected officials. If you've never done so, start today. Let them respectfully know your opinion on the recent events that mis-characterize gun owners and Conservatives as a whole. :)

Fox News Morning show is nailing her this morning. She swears it wasn't an accusation of all vets being extremists....it was an assesment....because of Timothy McVeigh being a vet....sigh

    she's defending the report....

they just asked about the right to life people being extremists..... well..uh....she thinks she should rewrite that....
but still defends that this could spill into violence....

forgive me....but isn't killing babies an act of violence???

    sigh

    she's not very convincing....

DHS is backpedaling fast over this one. It is just like the Missouri report that told law enforcement that people who openly support 2A and limited government were to be suspects.

It is all part of setting the stage with propaganda. We, those of us who support the constitution, as being demonized step at a time. Kind of like Hitler did with the Jews.

The whole "total control" push started a very long time ago and we have not had a president who didn't further that agenda. The most recent and well known was the damage done to the bill of rights by Bush. Obama campaigned on repairing that damage but has yet to make a single move to reverse the actual damage.

DHS was probably just testing the waters with this one and they're not liking the result. I agree that pretty soon the press and the gov't will be villifying us gun owners as a danger to society (in fact, they're already starting).

Obama won't fix any of the damage done by the Patriot Act. He will in fact USE the Patriot Act in his bid to gain total control over us and destroy our republic. All in the quest to further his puppetmasters' goals of one world socialist gov't.

Wow, so now, to the government, I'm an extremist!?! Who would have thought that the founders of our country were all right-wing extremists who wanted limited government and the right to bear arms? Maybe the "elite" should show us the way to happiness. Lord knows we don't know. We're all gun happy and dangerous. TJ

Well, "right wing extremist" would have applied very well to our founding fathers so...why the heck not!

You can go right down the list and other than actually owning a firearm, I fit the description very well. In fact, I'll be fitting it even better in the next month or two when I take off on a permanent camping/ outdoor photography trip. Perhaps they will call me a "survivalist"...:D

Now is the time to stand up, not to hide.

    Absolutely!:mad::mad::mad:

My one bumper sticker reads "Anti-gun supports terrorism, Pro-gun supports freedom". It came with the Jeep, I left it because it's true. Looking for more!
