Would love to but never could find the gun I liked at a price I could afford so my bench work is with field guns. I would love to get my hands on a Win 52 and an Anshultz would have me doing back flips.

I love the looks of that old Liteschert scope, looks like something form the early 20's when the shooters were in blazers, ties and straw boaters.

I shoot mostly benchrest style, but not in competition, pictured is one rifle just completed from various parts, first day out it nailed a bug type critter walking across my target (I guess that sort of makes it a varmint class Benchrest rifle).

that is one nice gun,, would love to build something like that but then would be afraid to take it out of the safe, in fear of scratching it

I don't shoot competition, just against myself but I really do enjoy it. It is some of the most relaxing time I spend by myself.

Have an old BSA model 12 martini and a Marlin XT22 that are the most accurate of the 5 or so 22 rifles I own. I often take both to the range and shoot from benchrest at a 50 yd target. Chuckle, the peep sighted BSA normally outshoots the 18x scoped Marlin XT22 at 50 yds. But what is really surprising about the BSA 22, on a windless day I'll bust more clay pigeons at 200 yds with less shots than I would with the Marlin XT. Now that's just a real hoot for me.

Got a Kimber 82G for Christmas last year and I love it. My oldest already had gotten one & we go out every other weekend. Wishing that we could get different ammo to try out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He shoots peep sights & I had to go to scope(old eyes) Both guns seem to be waiting for the "perfect" ammo....Both seem to be 1/2 MOA or better.

Update-- last weekend a guy came in to shoot for the 2nd time with his 1964 Anschutz. set a new iron sight recore of 158(?) with our own "homebrew" targets that have a center bull of .250"(total score of 400,possible)..Didn't catch what kind of ammo he was using. He said his model had a pinned barrel.Doesn't sound good, but obviously it shoots.

Get some A23/5 targets and shoot em, iron sight at 50 yards.

Over on RFC.com (rimfire central.com there is a place to post your scores.

Target is 5 bulls--top one for sighters. Other 4 are for score-5 shots/bull. Max score 200- w/ 20x's.

Use some kind of circular aperature for best scores but your mileage may vary from mine..

PM to discuss.

I wouldn't call it bench, more like "folding table." I have a setup out back with a 6' table modded with a ear in the middle for right and left hand shooters. Lucky for me I shoot lefty. The table is anchored to the ground with augers and those little come along straps. I was out there yesterday afternoon with one of my Masonic Brothers. I was getting minute of dime one hole groups with my CZ 455 and Wolf MT. He was trying to keep up with his Savage 17 bolt gun. Keep trying Orville lol!:D:D:D

I've never shot competition, except against my brother, and some friends. Just wondering how many here have ever tryed to strike a match with a bullet? A game my brother, and I, used to play all the time.

I haven't tried to strike a match, but occasionally get a shot at a fly on my target. Makes quite a splatter.

I do all of my shooting with a 22 from a bench. 4x4's buried 4 ft with poured concrete, makes it very stable.
